Travel is a Rewarding Experience

There are companies that pay out a bonus only if you take leave. That is because they think it is important that you get away from work. Taking leave and staying home is also not advisable. But what can it do for you if you travel often?

Rewarding Experience

This question will certainly not come from those people that travel. I have heard people that say they have not seen their own country and that is why they will not travel abroad. My honest reaction is that they will seldom see their own country. The reward is simply not that great. This does not say your own country is not good enough. I simply say the two are not the same. But that is a choice and if you wish then go and see your own country. You also do not have to go away for a week. Take a short trip on a Saturday afternoon.

Travel Your Own Country

To get in a train or on a bus or in a car will enrich you to travel. The very fact that you go and sleep in a different place and see new things always leave a lasting impression. Not everybody wants to turn down the dusty road and enter a cave. But those that do will find more than darkness inside. They will come to face with history, science and evolution to name a few. While caves are nothing but holes in a mountain, they have their own eco system. In the darkness a different kind of animal lurks. Bats, snakes and other creatures. You find the everlasting dripping water forming crystals and a fantasy world. You find rock art done by people that knew nothing but caves. For them the caves were survival and I believe a home.

History, Science, Evolution

The history we dig up in caves open our world as we see it. North of Johannesburg you find the Sterkfontein cave. A simple skull and parts of a skeleton found here showed that these people were more than animals. Mrs Pless is a famous skull found at a time when religious beliefs were still very conservative. Today we are more flexible when we think about life and death and we can now even accept that animals might have been the first humans. They made fire, gathered food for winter and even buried their dead.

To travel is rewarding in that it opens our mind and the way we see our present world. Caves for one can show us history, it can show us science in action and

It can show us how things evolved. This might not seem like much but it will make you think about the things you believe in and it might give you something to talk about when you get visitors.
